Day 6 – 9/9 – Road day

After breakfast we checked out of our motel and boarded the bus.

We traveled from Baddeck back across the causeway to the mainland part of Nova Scotia and on to Pictou for lunch.

Because there’s a difference in water level on the different sides of the causeway…
We had pizza for lunch. Apparently because the lobster traps were all being used as lawn ornaments.

After lunch we boarded the ferry for the 75 minute ride over to Prince Edward Island.

We arrived, checked in, and determined that we FINALLY have decent wifi.  I spent a few minutes catching up on stuff, beginning to manage pictures and such.

Then Cheryl and I ventured out to explore a bit of the town before supper.

City Hall
Cute row of houses
Another row of houses – how a motel. This is where the delegates to the confederation convention stayed.
Including two delegates named John Hamilton Gray
St. Dunstan’s Cathedral

Apparently this town/island has something to do with Anne of Green Gables.  Who knew?  She’s everywhere!

We arrived back at the motel in time for a short nap (for Che) and more picture management (for me) and then off to supper.

Following supper we adjourned to the theatre for a performance of the musical “Million Dollar Quartet”.  The show recounts the one and only time Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jonny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis recorded together at Sun Records in Memphis (in December 1956). It’s a great show and the performers were outstanding – a rockin’ good time!

Then back to the motel, to bed, to sleep, perhaps to dream.

Nite all.
