NYC23 – Day 6 – 11/23/23 – THANKSGIVING

This was an officially designated Lazy Morning.
Breakfast was a run to Dunkin (for those who were awake)

Followed by card games on the bed (for those who were awake)

Followed by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Which we watched just like most of the rest of the world – on our TV

Following lunch (more leftovers; a room with a refrigerator/microwave/sink is pretty cool when your constant stream of restaurant meals tends to collect leftovers.) we walked over to Radio City Music Hall for the Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular show.

The show was indeed spectacular. In addition to the theatre organs there was a full orchestra on a floating stage. They made extensive use of projections onto the ceiling. They even had drones dressed as fairies. And the Rockettes themselves were as great as ever.

Our next stop was the southern tip of the island – the oldest part of town and the financial district.
This being Thanksgiving things were closed but Kim had scheduled time to wander and check out some of the great sites.

Our tour of colonial New York City wound up at Fraunce’s Tavern – the tavern where Washington gave his farewell address to his officers at the end of the Revolutionary War.

It was a great almost end to another exceptional day.
Following dinner Chris, Jesse, and Spencer headed back to the hotel while Cheryl, Kim and I did a bit more wandering.

From there it was back to the hotel for us,
to rest,
and prepare for a new day tomorrow.
More then,
R
