NYC23 – Day 1 – 11/18/23 – Yep, Getting there was an adventure.

It seems like leaving Boise and heading east always starts with an early morning rousting.

…and an avocado bagel at Einsteins.
Followed by a nap at the airport because…

San Francisco was fogged in causing a weather delay.

Eventually (yes, I use that word a lot) we were allowed to leave and got to SFO in time to quick-step down the concourse to our next flight. We made it – got there just as they were calling our group.

Cross country in the lap of luxury!

At Newark airport we met our Uber driver who took us on a “this is a quicker route” trip to our hotel in Manhattan.

Our hotel is in the Hells Kitchen part of Manhattan. I was a bit concerned about the name but it turns out this is a really nice neighborhood only blocks away from theaters and the mad bustle of Times Square. It’s also easy walking distance to Rocafeller Center, and subway stations that take you pretty much everywhere. And (most important) the small local eateries are all over the place. This is gonna be a great stay!

Starting tomorrow.

Nite all,

  1. I mean… it was kinda on the border between Hells Kitchen and the Theater District in Midtown. I mostly know it as the home of Marvel Supervillan mobster Kingpin.
