Day 17 – July 5: Saying Good By

Strangely, there are no photos from today.

Breakfast this morning marked the departure of several families.

Then it was on to a load of laundry and lunch.

In the afternoon Ellen, Cheryl and Randy attended a performance of “Jonah” at a local religious theatre.  The production values were outstanding.  Sets were phenomenal, the use of color in the costumes meshed with the choreography to create a spectacular visual effect, There was even an interesting bit of biblical interpretation at the end that may show up in a sermon at some point.  The music was forgettable – they need a new composer.  But in sum it was a very satisfying afternoon.

We arrived back at the motel in time for the evening social hour (pulled pork sliders, coleslaw, 10 cent beer) and spent the evening talking with the last remaining revelers: Todd & Candis, Jeff & Ellen, Tom & Ann & Caroline.

Tomorrow we head out on the next leg of our adventure.  But for now we’re grateful for an extra special few days with some great relatives.
