Day 16 – 6/5/2019 – Up the Cape

Kind of a rough night for some of us so we were a bit slow getting going this morning. However, this did allow us some time to sit and contemplate water

And watch the guy kite boarding in our bay

The scheduled activity for the day was a drive up to Provincetown at the very tip of the Cape Cod. The drive took the better part of an hour and we had a bit of time to wander before lunch.

Your basic seaside tourist town
With a monument to the Pilgrims (who landed here before they hopped across the bay to the rock with a date on it)
And eclectic art
And a large and open gay community

Lunch was at a little seaside shop (with great food)

Lobster roll and their signature “Frose” (frozen rose)
And their own stretch of beach
With rocks

After lunch we wandered a bit more, then headed on up the road to Herring Cove Beach at the very tip of the cape.

We spent some time playing in the sand
And the surf
Watching the waves
And (for the boys) managing to get our pants soaked

All good things must come to an end and eventually we packed up and headed back to our condo.

Stopping along the way to take pictures at the Nauset Lighthouse (the iconic Cape Cod lighthouse)

Our full and complete evening included a grocery run, a load of laundry, dinner, and an ice cream run. Now some of us are watching Finding Nemo while others read and blog.

Tomorrow is our last day on the cape. It’s supposed to rain so we’ll see what the day brings.

Till then, Nite all, R
