Day 10 – 1/11/2022 – St. Thomas

OK, so… Sea day.

We had nowhere to be at any particular time (except we had a room service delivery scheduled for 8:15). So of course we were awake at 6:00. Managed to stay in bed until the alarm went off, then it was up, spit, exercise, and breakfast on the veranda.

As luck would have it we were headed north, which meant that our starboard-facing veranda was in bright tropical sun. Which was fine for breakfast and a bit of reading, but eventually we headed indoors.

This was taken right before Cheryl laid down for a nap.

At about 10:00 I woke Cheryl up and we headed upstairs to Mamsen’s for waffles.

it was very comfortable, and cool, and the views were outstanding. So we ended up staying…
…and blogging. They were handing out half-glasses of mimosa. It’s a tough job, but…

While I was working Cheryl wandered a bit. She visited the mini-museum they have displaying viking memorabilia.

Eventually it was time for lunch. It may seem like all we did today was blog and eat. Yep, that’s pretty much it. Although we both did get naps in.

In addition to spitting and the daily 4 question health quiz (chills&fever, flu-like symptoms, shortness of breath, loss of taste&smell) we have to have our temperature recorded every day. These stands use facial recognition to identify us and infrared or some such to take our temperature. Additionally there are sanitizer spray stations everywhere. At the theatre there are people posted at the doors to remind you to sanitize. At the World Cafe (the cafeteria) they actually have hand washing stations and they watch you wash.

After lunch we returned to our room where Cheryl showered and I napped. Then we started packing (sigh).

A bit before 4:00 we dressed in our new batik-wear and headed up to the Wintergarden for tea.

Thanks to our favorite waffle-pusher Sheryl for taking this photo.

Back to the room to finish packing, upload the days’ photos and get ready for the end of it all.

at 6:30 we have the farewell performance by the Entertainment team, then dinner, then…

As we sail off into the sunset we wish you fair winds and following seas.
