So I guess this is how it works. We got up this morning, changed our clocks one day, and we’re pretending there is not difference. Easy Peazy.

Other than that it was a normal morning: up, exercise, back to the room to shower and discover that we suddenly have bandwidth, upload a bunch of photos and a couple of videos, start posting to the blog…

Breakfast arrived about 8:15. We looked at the weather and decided that we could go back to breakfast on our veranda. What a Treat!

We were rousted from our indolence by the 9:30 lecture: “Ghost Ship of Grytviken – a True Story of Peace and War”. This was a great recounting of our Resident Historian’s quest to uncover the history of a trawler built in the late 1800s in his home town in England. During it’s life it served as a fishing supply ship in the North Sea, as a sub chaser in WWI, as a whaling ship, and several other ‘lives’ between than and the present (where it is currently a museum piece in the Falkland Islands).

11:00 was an overview of Pacific exploration focusing on the ‘second wave’ efforts to ‘fill in the map’ of the Pacific.

Lunch today featured:

I had pizza. Cheryl ate healthier so she earned:

Pumpkin Cake and an Almond Cookie

I didn’t earn anything but that didn’t stop me from scoring 2 scoops of ice cream (chocolate and walnut) and an oatmeal raisin cookie.

Back in the stateroom we worked for a bit, then retreated to the pool deck for a bit of sunning before the 4:30 port talk on our next port: Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Yes, it will be raining. Yes, we will get wet. But hopefully we will be clothed appropriately to the situation. We’ll see.

5:30 was church – it’s an interesting mix of all kinds of religions.

Then dinner and BBB (13/25 – Hey! That’s over 50% so we’re happy.)

We chatted a bit with the team before retiring to wind down this beautiful sea day. We’ve got one more tomorrow before a run of 7 port days down the east coast of the north island of New Zealand. Should be interesting.

Till tomorrow…TTFN, R
