Day 6 – 3/11/2020 – Beach Day

Nothing much happening in the morning so we slept a bit late and headed down to the gym.’

The next stop was breakfast, then back to the room for a nap before loading onto the bus. Our destination was another of the “Palace” properties – this on on the beach in the middle of “the hotel zone” in downtown Cancun.

A short stop for lunch and then off to the beach where we grabbed lounges, hid under umbrellas, and sat back to enjoy the afternoon.

We read, napped, played in the surf, enjoyed a beverage brought to our lounge by the beach attendant, took a walk (ostensibly or exercise, actually to collect shells), played in the surf some more…

This is your mother playing in the waves. You’ve never seen this because she hasn’t done it since college. She claims this is the first time the water has been warm enough.

Around 4:30 we began to gather up our things and headed out to the bus which whisked us back to our rooms where we took quick showers and dressed for dinner.

Dinner tonight was at the French restaurant out at the golf course. Great meal, excellent service, fine wine, good times. Then it was back to the room to prepare for tomorrow’s expotition to Tulum – more archaeology, anthropology, history, Spanish conquest.

Till then, TTFN

  2. That’s funny. When I saw the photo I thought to myself, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen mom in waves before”!!!
