Day 1 – 5/21/19 – On the Road Again

The day started out kind-of slowly. Our flight wasn’t till after noon so we spent a somewhat normal morning – a combination of playing, packing, remembering “one last thing” and such. Eventually Glenda arrived and we loaded everything into the van. She drove us to the airport (Thanks Glenda!!!) and we checked in at the

Day 0 – 5/20/2019 – The Lull Before…

The Marshall-Binghams arrived yesterday evening – driving from Oklahoma. Though it was quite late, Jesse still had the energy to totally humiliate Papa at the air-hockey table. Today was spent making final trip preparations, attending to last minute details of real life, and enjoying not being cooped up in a car. Among the baggage arriving

We were rudely awakened this morning by the alarm clock telling us it was near time to have our suitcases out in the hall so they could be loaded onto the bus while we were at breakfast. Breakfast was a rather hurried affair – though it needn’t have been, but there you go. We said

Today we returned to Espiritu Santo (the boat usually moves at night so at dawn you are in your new location for the day).  You may remember Day 3 when we awoke to witness the call of the sea lion at dawn. Today we experienced those sea lions close up. Breakfast today was early as

Day 6 – 1/9 – Isla San Francisco

We woke up this morning in the beautiful half-moon bay at the small island of San Francisco. The day’s activities included a guided nature walk in the morning and snorkeling in the afternoon. The nature walk was led by Jenny.  She covered the whole range of topics – skeletal identification of beach finds, plants, geology,

Day 5 – 1/8 – Isla Carmen, Arroyo Blanco

We woke up this morning anchored off Isla Carmen. This morning after breakfast we went our separate ways.  Cheryl had a massage at 8:45 and I joined a dozen other passengers at 9:00 for a guided snorkeling expedition. Our guide was Jenny from Boise (and biology major from College of Idaho). We donned our wetsuits
