Day 3 – 7/3/2019 – Black Forest & Colmar

Up at the crack of dawn (not really, but we’re on vacation so 7:15 seems like it.) After a quick breakfast we got ready and got on the bus for a scenic trip into the Black Forest. 90 minutes later we arrived in a small “settlement” (read “tourist trap”) where we had options. We started […]

Day 2 – 7/2/2019 – Arrival

We landed in Amsterdam about 8:00 AM (local time) Midnight (Boise Time). Madeline had arranged for a wheel chair for Bill, so he was met at the gate and whisked away through passport control and on to the next gate while the rest of us wandered around until we found a likely looking line to

Day 1 – 7/1/2019 – And We’re Off

Bill and Madeline showed up a few minutes before 7:00. We finished throwing things together, woke up our chauffeur (Kim) and headed to the airport. We did the standard ticketing/passport verification/clearing security/making our way to the gate/finding some breakfast thing and by 9:00 we were boarded and on our way to Salt Lake City. Where

Day 23 – 6/12/2019 – Homeward Bound

The only thing worse than an alarm that goes off at 3:00 AM is anticipating an alarm that’s going to go off at 3:00 AM. But eventually 3:00 AM came and we bounded out of bed, got washed, dressed, packed, and out the door before the adrenaline wore off – at least for the adults.

Day 22 – 6/11/2019 – Last day in Boston

The plan for the day was simple. Check out of the Air B&B, Drop our baggage at the airport hotel, into town to visit the Science Museum (Jesse) and the Childrens’ Museum (Spencer), back to the airport hotel for an afternoon of swimming and naps, set the alarms for an ungodly hour, early to bed.

Day 20 – 6/9/2019 – On to Boston

First things first – Kim fixed my iPad! Actually she remembered how to hard-boot it and that did the trick. We’re back in business. So…if you’ve read the sans image version of Day 19, and don’t have a particular need to be assulted by images of great art, you’re good. If, however, you have a

Day 19 – 6/8/2019 – Providence

Today was our “Providence Day.” Since we only had one full day in town we decided to split up and follow our individual interests. Cheryl and Kim took J and S and headed for the zoo. Providence has a wonderful zoo with interesting animals and (most important on a hot sunny day) a chance to

Day 18 – 6/7/2019 – Edaville

We were up, breakfasted, packed, and (amazingly) out the door by 10:00 checkout time. The first stop was a small amusement park buried deep in the cranberry country of eastern Massachusetts. Edaville doesn’t seem like much at first but the deeper into the park you go the more there is to see and do. We
