So here’s the plan.
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Walk to One Vanderbilt Plaza
- Experience The Summit
- Uber back to the hotel
- Change clothes
- Check out
- Store our luggage at the hotel
- Uber to Brooklyn
- Photo shoot
- Leave Brooklyn
- Brian Ubers to Jersey City to pick up the rental car
- The rest of us return to the hotel to retrieve our luggage
- The rest of us Uber to Jersey City to join Brian as he picks up the car.
- We all drive to Atlantic City
Let see how we did.
1. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast
2. The walk was pretty easy

3. The Summit was both frustrating and amazing.
Our tickets were for 9:00 but even then the line was brutal. It was close to 9:30 by the time we got thru security, the video on the construction (We were able to sneak out. Cheryl and I had seen it before and it is more of a promo piece than important to know information.), two sets of photos (We politely declined), donned our booties, and waited in line for the elevator.
Eventually we made it.
And were blown away by the experience!

The high point of the whole experience was the bubble room.

3a. At this point we deviated from the plan just a bit.
Since the elevator from the Summit deposited us in the lower level of the tower,
And since that level was connected to Grand Central Terminal across the street…

Exiting the building Brian started to order an Uber while Jen looked at a line of cabs.
4. We took a taxi back to the hotel.
5. Where we put on our photo clothes,
6. Checked out, stored our suitcases
7. and Ubered to Brooklyn.
8. There we met the photographer for the Hunt’s annual family photo session.
She was great, very professional and excellent at using backgrounds.
Here are a couple of her finished shots.

9. Following the photo shoot Brian left to pick up the car while the rest of us took the subway back to the hotel.
The walk from the subway stop to the hotel passed a Smashburger.
Another brief deviation.

Also while we were there Brian texted to say that he had the car and was driving into Manhattan to pick us up.
So we hurried thru lunch and got to the hotel just before him.
10. We quickly retrieved and loaded the luggage and were on the road.

Arriving in Atlantic City we checked in to our hotel (the Showboat Resort).

This being Brian and Jennifer’s anniversary they picked up pizza for the four of us while they went out to dinner.
We spent the evening with the kids, eventually seeing them off to sleep.
Then we read until the parents returned and sent us to our room.
Tomorrow is a ‘down day’.
No sightseeing
No travel
It’s that scheduled day mid-trip to rest and recoup for the final push.
Till then,
