After a COVID induced hiatus it’s time to get back on track with the triennial reunion of the proginy of Rev. Dr. Moses Milton Kilpatrick.
This year’s reunion is produced by the Marshall branch under the direction of Executive Producer Jen Hunt.
We’re meeting in Toronto with our base being the Chelsea Hotel. Group activities include the traditional Major League baseball game, a visit to Niagara Falls, a family dinner, and time spent lounging around the pool – visiting, catching up, tracking the growth of the newer generations of the clan (and the various physical ailments of the elder generation.
This is the first reunion where none of Dr. Kilpatrick’s grandchildren are still around. The great-grandchildren are in their 60’s and 70’s. The next generation has taken the reins and we look forward to this new era of gatherings.
And so it continued. This is “fly day” but our flights aren’t until later this afternoon so we took the opportunity to do a little more sightseeing. We were up, fed, and out the door at 8:30 this morning. We had places to go and things to see. We started with a Lyft ride to the Lincoln Memorial. After spending some time admiring the statue and reading the Gettysburg Address and Lincoln’s second inaugural address we started our walk to the Washington
And the hunt for breakfast continues. We were scheduled to gather in the lobby at 8:00.So we were not pleased to discover that the restaurant where we ate yesterday morning (Remember the ‘no bacon, no sausage, no ham’ place?) doesn’t open till 8:00.We settled for pastries from the coffee vendor in the lobby. sigh. With no real plans for today we set out looking for a likely breakfast place. Along the way we got a text from Brad – Interest in heading somewhere and getting breakfast along the way? You Bet! So we met up with Brad, Lily, and Carl to do a bit of exploring. Our Uber driver
We finally rolled over this morning at 8:45. It’s really strange to sleep that late. We were down to breakfast by 9:30 where we met several of the relatives on the patio. We ate and sat around talking until it was time for Ralph and Anjar to return his rental car and Cheryl and me
