What can I say. This is what happens when a pandemic gets in the way of your travel plans for a couple of years. So in January 2021 we booked a cruise – from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to London – by way of Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Mumbai, Rome. You get the picture. So buckle up buttercup and let’s see how this all plays out.

One additional note. Our cruise ship has wifi. It’s supposed to work in the middle of the ocean. But I’m not sure how much bandwidth we’ll have to upload photos and videos, so posts might be delayed from time to time. Bear with me and we’ll see what we can do.

WC007 – 12/28/2022 – Colon, Panama

Location Check: N 09º 21′ 44.74″ – W 079º 53′ 33.22″ We also noticed a sight unique to Panama. We cut exercise short and had a quick breakfast because timing today is interesting. Then it was back to the stateroom to prepare for the day, read the paper, deal with email and Cruise Critic before […]

WC005 – 12/26/2022 – Yet Another Sea Day

Noontime Location Check: N 13º 17′ 04.30″ – W 078º 40′ 50.93″ Up on time this morning and down to the gym. It’s confession time. I have frequently maintained that “nothing of musical significance happened in the 80’s.” I am using an 80’s dance mix as my treadmill music and have come to appreciate the

WC004 – 12/25/2022 – Christmas Day at Sea

Noontime location check: N 17º 19′ W 83º 23′ The morning started with a bit of a lie-in. It was a combination of recovering from last night’s celebrations (Thanks Jerry for sharing your excellent Champagne), a bit of a Christmas cheer, and the fact that the ship was really rockin’ and arollin’. (Note; We, of

WC003 – 12/24/2022 – Cozumel, Mexico

Normal start to the day – except that inclement weather forced breakfast to move to the World Cafe – which wasn’t all bad After breakfast (during which the ship docked in Cozumel) we briefly returned to our stateroom to make final preparations for our day. At about 9’ish – following a flurry of texts with

WC002 – 12/23/2022 – Sea day

I apologize for the delay in getting this posted. Yesterday evening the interweb was so bad that I couldn’t get these few photos uploaded. I blame Cuba. Before I describe the day it occurs to me that a brief introduction to the ship might help you understand our day. Our cabin is on deck 4,

WC001 – 12/22/2022 – Boarding Day

We woke up to a beautiful (translate: warm and muggy) morning. Breakfast, reserve shuttle time to the ship, off to CVS to finish our supplies shopping, and back to the room to chill for an hour before checkout, lunch, 1:00 shuttle. By the way, last thing before bed last night was confirmation that Australia will

WC-001 – 12/21/22 – Off to FLL

Those who have followed other of my travel BLOGS know that “Day 0” is house cleaning / final packing / cleaning out the fridge day. Not so this trip. All that happened on Day -5, before we left for Oklahoma and early family Christmas. Today was a bit different as far as “Day 0” goes.
