It was a reasonably relaxed morning – Steve and Billie arrived to schlep us to the airport shortly after 10:00.
This gave us time to review the temperature and rainfall forecasts and make some last minute adjustments to the luggage.

At the airport check-in was quick and easy (much easier than yesterday’s futile attempts to load our passport info to the recalcitrant United Airlines website). Said ‘Hi’ to Bob and Marge at TSA and sat for a bite of lunch before hangin’ out at the gate.

Eventually we were on our way to Chicago where we found our next gate

Eventually we boarded (late – 10:00ish) and were off to Milan.

So that’s departure day.
We’ll pick up landing on Saturday in the next post.
