And on the 8th day they rested.
Sort of.
Eventually.
First was the hunt for breakfast – always an adventure at this hotel.
Jen had brought me half a cannoli last night so I at that while we got ready.
I was NOT hungry.
Cheryl was in the mood for eggs and hash browns.
We found a restaurant that was open and she ordered her breakfast.
I ordered a fruit salad and a side of bacon.
Our server returned with the news that there was no bacon (or sausage or ham). Sigh.
After breakfast we gathered a few dirty clothes and walked about 5 blocks to a very nice, well maintained laundromat.
Some time later we returned our fresh clothes to the room, donned swimwear, and headed out to the beach.

After a long (and restful) walk along the beach it was time to think about lunch.
So it was up to the famous boardwalk and off to find a suitable lunch location.
We settled on a restaurant named LandShark. It’s associated with Margaritaville and has a toned-down version of that vibe.

After lunch we took a swing by the room to get supplies and get gooped up and headed down to the beach…

…and spent the rest of the afternoon lounging, reading, watching the waves. Heaven!
The Hunts spent most of the day checking out the adjacent water park and some of the rides on the Steel Pier.

Eventually the dinner bell rang and we met the Hunts back at LandShark.

We had a wonderful dinner, enjoying the sunset and the ocean breeze and each other’s company.
Then it was time to retire to the hotel…

Before retiring to the room to pack.
Tomorrow is our last mid-trip travel day as we head to Washington DC.
Till then…
